life was such a peculiar thing. little aeryn has learned a lot from his first couple of days. well as much as a newborn was capable of learning.

he was quick to differentiate between the large form and the two smaller ones. they were all lovely in their own little ways. when he was hungry, he could count on the bigger one to fill him up. when he felt lonely, the two smaller forms were there by his side. but they all had one thing in common. they were warm and comforting.

but there was a whole world out there, just waiting for the small boy. whether it be curiosity or the instinct to move, aeryn found himself moving away from the warmth of his family.

when he took his first step into solitude he was met with what felt like a nasty snowstorm. it was so cold and unwelcoming. nothing like what he was used to. aeryn cried for his family, tried to maneuver his way back to them. but there was no way he was getting anywhere on those pathetic little legs of his. oh dear, he’ll never get back at this rate.

if only he knew that he was mere inches away from mother.
