The pointed look that Amekaze gave him did not go unnoticed. It seemed she did agree with the plan to make Hydra their leader, a plan that Charon felt was the only way to salvage the wreckage of their family. Honestly, part of Charon played with the thought of simply taking Speedy and leaving, finding a pack of their own, start anew.. but then he thought of all else in his life. He thought of his dreams, the ones he had long ago, to create a big legacy. It had never happened, but now... Maybe still... Charon appreciated Speedy and felt she didn't deserve what she might receive, as she was his friend, but what he felt for her wasn't enough like love to tumble his entire life over for. However much it pained him. But it seemed impossible to choose between his children and, well, his children.

Charon watched in silence as Hydra spoke, his posture confident as normal, while he watched for Amekaze's response. Surely she would be angry, but hopefully she would see the sense in what Hydra displayed before them. Our family deserves to rule these wilds. It is time we make good on the legacy our children deserve, and we need every soldier we can get. Charon then waited, surely receiving Amekaze's wrath for what had transpired, but knowing she would see the wisdom behind forgiveness some day (even if that day was probably not today).
