He had not noticed the wound on the stranger until it was pointed out and even then Raimo wondered, what had caused that? Was this boy a warrior, or a hunter only? Had he fought some great beast like in the stories, such as a dragon from the cliffs or a great firebird, or perhaps a leviathan from the sea? No, they were too far inland for that. Maybe a rival man set to steal his beloved...? Ideas spawned ideas inside of Raimo.
Then Maksim mentioned mint. That wasn't nearly as exciting. Raimo was not a trained physician by any means, however any survivalist should know the basics. Thankfully it was one of the few things Raimo had been attentive to during his tutoring; it helped to come from such a diverse family, as it turns out.
While he worked, he glanced from time to time to Maksim, and finally asked:

Ah, well, I can help you look.Two sets of eyes were better than one. Then he ducked towards the soil and began inspecting the dirt, the grass, the ferns, whatever he could suss out among the dark patches scythed by slanting beams of light; there wasn't much here, and he couldn't immediately discern mint among the plethora of greens.
While he worked, he glanced from time to time to Maksim, and finally asked:
