Kallik collapsed onto the fur when she motioned towards it. The walk here had taken more out of him than he wanted to acknowledge. She moved around the den and came back with something that looked like the pine needles he often saw on the ground outside the canyon. Aquene instructed him to chew on them. The auxillary sniffed them a few times before finally taking some in his mouth. The taste was terrible but he chewed anyway. She told him of a poultice and then suggested he rest here; Kallik nodded to both. It did feel much more comfortable in here. He had forgotten what it felt like to sleep in a den. My shoulders, he said after a moment, the words muffled by the needles still in his mouth. They hurt the most. He wondered how long it would take to feel the effects of these plants.
