Alaric looked at her and sensed that Pie needed honesty in all things. It depends Tiuttuk. It depends on the season, the receptiveness of the packs. Sometimes I only survived, sometimes I thrived, and sometimes I was so close to death. I was certain I wouldn't see the next morning. It depends on many things.

Alaric shrugged a shoulder. I'm not getting any younger Tiuttuk. Chances are I couldn't do it anymore. So for now I plan to stick around and see what happens.

Alaric was no a young man anymore. He was also not old, but he knew that as the seasons came and went, he would grow old. And time was not easy on any man. And it would not creep upon him, it would come full bore and latch on. And he'd be left thinking where did time go.
