Wildfire felt relief sweep through her, though a look of consternation passed over her face when Thuringwethil met her gaze for a long beat, only to turn away and depart. Dio did the same thing, in the opposite direction. That left Wildfire standing there over the dead and bloodied body with an um, guys? expression on her face.

She hesitated for an instant, then trailed after the Heda. If Thuringwethil wanted space, Wildfire wouldn't infringe. But if she needed help cleaning up or going over what had just happened, the Bandrona wanted to make herself available.
