Dawnlark Plains Moonrise Kingdom, only made for two

With the changing seasons the leader opted to follow one of the passes through the Sunspire - though it had been sometime since she had been in Snowforest Taiga it still felt familiar, particularly in the cold seasons when it resembled the tundras of her homeland. 

The Dawnlark Plains were a barren, desolate place. There was no reason to travel there save for the herd of elk that passed through in the winter. The tracker would need to keep an eye on them in case they migrated to the Flatlands - for the prospect of taking down one of the elks was only made possible by the recent recruits that had filled their ranks. 

Snow already blanketed the silent field, as it often did in the colder months, the prints that disturbed the pearly plane the only sign a life. They told stories - a fox and the hare it had been trailing, a song bird hopping through the snow, a deer sweeping aside the snow in search of grass only to move on when it found the withered blades beneath. There was no sign of the elk, indicating they hadn't passed through quite yet. Likely, they would wait until later in the season.

The tracker drew to a halt, inhaling deeply. The winter air was cold in her lungs but the dull ache of it was so familiar that her eyes squeezed shut of their own accord, blocking out the memories. 

Her eyes opened, a white puff curling in the air as she sighed - watching it rise and dissipate.
