The large filthy white brute winced as the heard the earth shift clumsily under paw, he was not a hunter usually but winter made it harder to sniff out and steal from caches.

Then deer he had been stalking spoke and he froze. He looked over the animal much more carefully; it was not a wolf, at least not wholly, it was to lanky and coloured all wrong but it was also not a deer.

Would others blamed him if he killed it? His golden eyes stared at her hungrily for a few more minutes, a offering like this to his gods would be worthy, he could take this one down easily enough; but not likely without taking injury and with the storm brewing on the horizon he didn't relish the idea of spending energy healing rather then staying warm.
