Greatwater Lake there's a body in the garden

scylla wades between the stalks and reeds upon the bank of the greatwater lake; tired eyes greeting the rising sun as it casts its reflection in the cool waters. it has been nearly half an hour since rising at the very ass crack of dawn to collect all she needed for the day. bundles of herbs and webs sat waiting her attention not far from the bank, piling higher and higher as she laboured between the bountiful loch and the land that surrounded it.

while a thick, black scab had developed over the pitful sight of her severed toe, inflamation was her biggest foe. in retaliation, the girl made it a point not to travel farther from the lakes' radius in order to reduce the swelling when need be. peering between the plants she did not care for, something curious caught her eye. it can't be... she speaks aloud, truly baffled by the idea that she simply happenstanced upon perhaps the most lethal plant known to their kind. water hemlock. even she does not know how to approach it, and merely stares at this thing on the waters edge that captives all her attention.

Somewhere around a shadow loomed over her, watching the Empress as she wandered further from the vale's boundaries as she sought out some still missing Uaine wolves as well as some herbs to bring back to her garden. Something she had hoped @Ibis had done too wherever she had gone to. The Queen these days wandered quite often and Reiko could only hope that she was well protected and would return home safely soon.

There were still plenty of herbs that they needed to plant and cultivate to prepare for next winter, better prepared than she was last winter in Emberwood. The pale woman herself needed some too to calm her belly, chewing on certain herbs had helped her keep some food down lately, something that almost seemed impossible these days without some assistance. 

Nearing the water's edge, wanting nothing but just a couple mouthful of sweet cold water to quench her thirst - bright cerulean eyes wandered the water's edge, curious to see what she might spot and —

H-hey! Normally, not one to approach a stranger so quickly these days, watching the young woman approach such a deadly plant was enough to push the Monarch to quickly close the distance between them in an attempt to distract the young lady from the little flowers. I wouldn't touch that, it's incredibly deadly. She beckoned.

the abrupt yell from a stranger startles her, snapping her out of a certian trance and causing her hackles to raise in one quick, fluid motion. before a snarl is able to develop on her tongue, the stranger follows up with a warning -- one she is already aware of but surprising nonetheless. scylla's blank stare casts between the plant and the shouting woman, slightly perplexed. was this not the very situation that occured to her some days ago? strange. 

the girl is about to retort with a yeah i fucking know before biting her tongue. there were other plants, roots and fungi she knew nothing about, that rested in her pile of unknown curiosities stacking higher and higher on the grass. abandoning the water hemlock and pacing over to the pile, she noses out a particular funky looking mushroom of some sort and nudges it in the other's direction -- one she does not know the nature of.

and this? eyes peer up curiously to the woman, wondering just how much information on the particular topic rested inside that dainty little head of hers.

Naturally the other was taken aback by Reiko's outburst - but it was all worth it in the end, yes? Being surprised by a stranger for good reasons such as saving you from chewing on deadly plants was a positive surprise in the end once the shock faded, didn't it? Taking the darker girl's expression of annoyance more so from the random presence of another yelling at them rather than they already knowing the toxic properties of the plant they were investigating. 

Cautiously she approaches to see what the strange woman was looking at. It was indeed funky, what a weird thing indeed, wrinkly and brown - That too, I wouldn't eat it either. Crinkling her nose and backing away from the fungus and woman, she offered a sideways glance at both, going from the mushroom, back to her. I call it devil's maze, eating it can cause vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, dizziness, tremors, and possibly death. What we call The Brain Mushroom, not knowing what a brain looks like - she came up with her own title for the odd-looking fungus.
