Pack Activity

home.

the wind from the sea filtered through the thick emerald branches of the great trees, riffling though lasher's pelt as he stood facing the great expanse of saltwater. here they would reside, here, he prayed, they would flourish, bringing forth new life into the woodland, to solidify their claim. but more than that, taltos adored all who had followed him. the responsibility weighed heavily upon him, yet it was a burden that he proudly bore. love for them buoyed his soul, and presently the newly crowned alpha of donnelaith lifted his voice in a joyous cry of claim and affection.

here was home.

YAY! :)

Despite the long, arduous trek from the plateau to this forest, Eilidh was in high spirits when her father's call rose upon the wind. The princess was nearby, so instead of simply howling in tune with him, she sought him out. Atop the crest that overlooked the sea below she found her father, the king, looking quite regal and handsome in the ocean breeze. She stepped to his side, and all animosity forgotten, kissed his chin and stood beside him as she lifted her own voice in song. They were home.

:D !!

Lasher's call resounded and Dante paused a moment to listen, a soft smile in place. They journey here had been long but uneventful and now, here they were. Home.

The overall reception had yet to make itself known to the once-alpha, yet for the moment, he couldn't imagine being more content. This was right. Lifting his muzzle, he gave his one voice as well, as he had when only he and Lasher had sung this same tune. Now it was official, though - this place was theirs, and they would defend it fiercely if questioned.

It was with gentle mincing steps Blue moved among the new grounds. Her smell was ever more present than most, having been here longer than all of them by herself. It wasn't a lie that the solitary area had given her a bit of sadness, but she was happy now that those she cared for were back near her. She stopped a moment to catch her breath, the rounding of her belly telling the tale of why she had stayed behind. The cramps that were beginning to present themselves eliciting an uncomfortable whine. They were not too painful yet, just there, letting her know that there was little ones growing in her womb again. She smiled to herself. At her mate and lovers calls, followed by Eilidh and Dante, she lifted her muzzle and returned the call. Resuming her rollicking waddle towards them.
Hello Everyone. It's been forever.

It could not be said that she had was finally becoming settled at the plateau, because she was not. Yet still, she found it overwhelming that she should just arrive and already the pack decide to up and move elsewhere. Her stamina was no where near that of her packmates. Her treks from the food bowl to the couch hardly conditioned it, and so she labored at the end of the pack for almost the entire way to their new home. But now that she had made it, she felt she had checked off some other milestone and felt a sense of pride welling in her chest. She was all to eager to sing with her new alpha, the gentle wolf that had taken her under his wing, and the others.

Too bad her howl was mixed with the occasional reeeowww! She caught herself too late, and promptly went to stick her head in some hole.

The journey, quite short to her, was uneventful but exciting. The trees mystified her in their sheer size, and the comforting sea breeze ruffled her fur. The joyous claiming call went up and floated among the trees, joined by several others. Pearl lifted her pale muzzle, her voice blending with the tune of the many. This majestic place would now be called home, and was fiercely protected.

To be apart of something infinity bigger than himself was ...inspiring; and whole kind of awesome. He'd never been apart of founding a pack before (despite that all he did was follow Lasher and Dante, really) for Venia Dei had long since been founded before his birth. Before his mother's birth, even. There was a solidity, a loyalty that had rooted deeply, nurtured by this move — by the realization that he'd helped make history even if it was nothing more than happening to pick the right pack at the right time. Still, even in that small way he aided and Regi would take his victories where he could. He felt apart of Donnelaith in a different way that he'd felt apart of Blacktail Deer Plateau — not that, that particular feeling made much sense to him. He couldn't explain it, even if anyone had asked. He simply felt it.

And his pride in Lasher (and by extension Blue Willow) was a swelling, strong pride; even if he couldn't claim to know either Alpha well. As Lasher's howl rose into the air breaking the previous stillness of it, other's voices roses with the Alpha's. Regi tipped his own head back and let his deep baritone join in with theirs.

Just as they had arrived in the new place and Osprey had exchanged the polite glances and bows with the other pack members, she departed from the group to do some exploring of her own. The "terra incognita" and numerous opportunities to discover something new. She was curious just as much as she was eager to get away from the rest of the people. After months she had spent on her own, she still found it hard to be surrounded by so many people.

When she had almost reached the edge of the forest and the seaside, Lasher's howl raised in the air and soon many other voices joined the concert. Osprey stopped in her tracks, listened for a bit and then joined the symphony of many voices. Though enjoying her solitude, it still felt great to be a part of something bigger.

he still wasn't sure of the 'status' on he and Behati's relationship -- he had trekked in solemn silence behind his father, bearing a store of herbs for his mother's new triage unit. there had been much to do to settle initially, but as soon as he was able, Cas had run off to explore. soon he would try to approach Eilidh and see what her deal was about, but for now, he was content to be alone.

as the song of the donnelaith wolves rose into the air, the youth faced into the oceanic breeze and lent his own voice, heart swelling with the pride that came with founding oneself anew.

Beneath the woodsy scent crept the haunting sting of brine. Every breath confirmed the sea not far from where Lasher had led them, and Malachi pressed his ears forward as he moved at a crawl through the undergrowth. From every shadow he expected the twin glow of the siren's wicked eyes peering from beneath her crown of darkness. Nothing but the sight of her dead body would convince Malachi the siren was gone for good. The very ghost of her clung to every branch and leaf through the heavy stench of the sea.

Malachi lurched at the sudden rise of Lasher's call. Heat burned his cheeks and he froze in place as the forest gradually filled with the chorus of the pack. Pride and passion swelled in each voice; of course, for this was their claim. He had added his own shout of hope at the crowning of Duskfire, but that had been so long ago, and he had been such a different wolf. Tentatively, he inhaled and titled his head skyward. The brine's bite held his tongue and he paused before he added his voice to the claim, yet his heart never entered the song.
