nose to earth, she tracked dutifully the scent of marmot, smoldering gaze downcast as she paused. the small dump of feces was fresh, surely it could not be too far. she ought not have left, especially not with her sister accompanying them. mind turned once again to duty, and she knew firmly she could not return empty-jawed. her head swung up at the near patter of paws, and she slunk forward, ears like radar dishes atop her head.

with a rush did she make her move, bursting through underbrush and landing her fangs on the creature's side. a quick snap of her head, another well aimed crunch of her jaws, and the creature was dead. there came a little rush when it happened - as if some of her shame and hatred slipped out with the killing blow. gaze slipped up to land near the sun, finding it to be only midday. she had a little more time, surely.

The shadow had wandered a greater distance than usual, driven by a restless energy she could not place. Her time in the Teekons had not been what she expected so far; perhaps it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Anything less than great felt like a failure.
When she noticed the other wolf, Tine was still some ways off. The familiar scent had struck her-- the same one on Aditya, on Shale. Though, the shadow noted as she approached, the smell of the former was stronger on her. A sudden nagging jealousy overtook her as she thought of the handsome male. Truthfully she had no desire to take him for her own-- but!
Tine's suddenly critical eye noted the she-wolf's perceived inadequacies, and then she was irritated. How did a girl so scrawny and plain obtain-- that? She pictured Aditya again, unable to make sense of it, but instantly certain that whoever this girl was, she had not yet paid enough for the privilege. It was a hasty, unfounded assumption, but Tine was selfish and fickle and very jealous. The blow to her pride would have been too great to just walk away-- to let the woman have him so easily, though Tine didn't want him herself.
The shadow became stiff in posture, but she did not speak yet. Instead she chuffed and waited for the woman to notice her, trying to ignore how the scent of Aditya on her pelt nagged at Tine's growing irritation.

her gaze met that of the shadowed woman a moment before she called out, golden optics quick to trace out her stiffened form. she was not slow to react, her hackles prickling as her gaze hardened, tail curling up over her back slowly and surely. she wanted nothing to do with others, not now, and not when one of them might be a threat to the meal she carried now.

words did not break her lips, maw still clamped tightly around her catch, but glowering gaze asked her question easily enough - what did she want?
