she wasn't sure what to feel, anymore. in the short period of time since that previous evening, emotions had crumpled her up and thrown her against the wall, leaving her bruised and battered. she knew that to incite the black woman to fight had been stupid, but it seemed that the huntress contained no end of stupidity that day.

dropping the bedraggled bit of prey at her paws, she stared down at the maplewood, chest tight and heavy. her tongue flicked out to probe at the deep gash that sliced dangerously close to her right eye. her shoulders slumped as she sat a moment, attending again to the laceration that stretched across her shoulder, attempting to somehow make it seem smaller than it was.

Xahi hummed softly to herself as she walked along the stream, her ears flicking here and there as she melodically echoed the sounds she heard around her. The girl would put a tune to the sound of a breaking branch, or a whispering spring, or a rock shifting. It was something Ezimette had taught Xahi, and something Xahi had utilized often. Now, she was singing due to the overwhelming bliss her time with Lennon had created so suddenly. With every soft word he spoke, Xahi's heart shuddered with glee, and she needed away to express that without spilling her every thought to the boy.

As she meandered along, spilling soft-spoken songs of silver-spun satisfaction, the girl came upon a scent that she definitely didn't recognize. It was another wolf, who smelled not only of themself but of another...and blood. Xahi tentatively approached the scent, finally coming upon hwo she searched for. The pallid woman gazed from her spot, a while away from the other, but close enough to be recognized. Xahi could see, could almost feel, the other's pain. She was wounded, physically, but also seemed to have internal anguish, Xahi realized.

Now, Xahi wasn't a proffesional yet, but she understood emotions well, she could analyze behavior, body-language, and the truth of the tongue nearly as well as one could analyze a stick, so it was obvious that this wolf was having a...bad day. Xahi took a hesitant step forwards, her long limb outstretching from her body as she chuffed to the other in quiet greeting.

the woman's ears pricked at the sound of another, and for a moment she wondered if it were Adi. she turned to meet him - her, she realized quickly, and her gaze settled on the stranger before quickly scanning her. pretty, she realized dully, and it was after a moment that she offered a "hello,"  at once glad and disappointed that it was not Adi that stood before her.

she did not offer much else besides a slight cant of her head, tiredly pushing her brain back to the place it belonged, and standing a little straighter as she turned. she attempted to push and prod her thoughts into order, knowing she ought to ask this girl about the taiga, but failing to put herself together as quickly as she'd liked, and thus remaining silent a beat longer.

The young woman padded forward slowly, softly, after the woman had greeted her, and she could tell that she must have been in shock, distress, or something. Xahi scanned the other woman's body, trying to tell just how badly injured she was. "You are hurting, friend,"she began,"please, allow me to help you." Xahi stepepd forwards softly, coming within a 15 foot radius of the other. The girl did not want to come on too strong, but she could sense that the other was in need of help, whether she voiced it or not.

The girl was usually more wary when it came to strangers, but she thought it was right to help this one, as it wasn't in her moral code to leave alone a wounded stranger. She was bound to help her either way, emotionally or physically, even if the other wasn't so keen for shelter. It was just...Xahi's nature. The young woman had been alone after a traumatic event had occured in her life, and she wouldn't allow another to experience that if she could help it.

the woman, odd as she was, was novel to the woman in her calm formality. she seemed a healer, but not one the likes of Pema - different, somehow. "they look worse than they are, really,"  she offered, pausing a moment, "but - help would be appreciated" her ears flickered, and she blinked a moment, shifting to face the woman more openly.

"are you from nearby?"  it was the only thing she could think to ask to ease the quiet, though the words where halfhearted and did not contain  the same kind of sharp interest that might usually be present in the query.

Xahi gave a soft smile as the other spoke, and she moved forwards in response. As the girl looked over the wound, she pondered how she could help. It was then that this new woman inquired something of her. "Kind of," she began, "my group is traveling to our new home, we've stopped here for a rest. Are you from here?" The young woman finished analyzing the cut and ventured away for a moment. She snuffed around curiously in the grass before coming upon what she was waiting for. Plucking the bright colored flower from it's spot, she trotted back over to the other. The marigold was small, puny even, (as to be expected in such weather), but Xahi could make use of it. The girl lowered herself and licked gently at the wounds to clean them before turning back to her flower. She chewed its petals into a poultice of sorts, cringing slightly at the taste, and pasted it as best she could onto the woman's largest wound. Ezimette had taught her that trick, and she was oh-so-grateful for that now. She then behan to tend to the other smaller wounds, gingerly cleaning them to help this stranger out.
