All Welcome

The wolf went north from the creek. He could see the dark shape of many mountains looming, and tried his luck moving towards them. As the earth shifted and evened out, he grew curious of what may sit upon the nearby plateau. As the wolf came close to the plateau he discovered that it was well fortified. There were many scents, stronger scents than the creek from earlier, and that spooked him. He grew nervous the closer he got, and bypassed it altogether. Best to keep himself on the safe side, he thought.

Thus, the wolf came to a bifurcated river once again. His first instinct was to look for fish, but in remembering the creek from before, he grew skeptical. He found a shallow section and picked his way through, finding himself upon an island (more or less). He began to feel a little more confident once he'd roamed across the isle a bit. There did not seem to be anyone living on it, at least in no permanent manner. He could rest here (even hunt if he was lucky), and soon he was thinking about his next meal.

this place was almost unreal to him. a distant dream long forgotten. how long had it been since he’d been here? years maybe, it sure felt like it. issun stared at the land beyond the river. was malice there? her kids? no, there was no sign of them here. some other appeared to frequent here, but not them.

he snapped back into reality when he saw a dark shape wading through the water. right, he wasn’t here to dwell on the past, he was working for a future. issun picked himself up and followed the man a little ways behind. once he caught up to him, he announced his presence with a chuff.
