All Welcome
she's taken to walking the fringes of the coastline, for the sea has much to offer her now. here and again it will deposit upon the strand brine-encrusted pickings that sate the hunger that comes now and again, and the brine and wind do a good enough job of masking her scent. the burn is still settled close to her skin, dissuaded now and again when she plunges abruptly into the sea and the cold of it has the heat withdraw to a glowing ember inside her chest. and when she returns to the strand it expands slowly and surely, until it is overwhelming and she returns to the cold embrace of the sea. for days now this has been her cycle, into the arms of the sea and back again, pausing now and again to search for water or food. it is the latter she's stumbled upon low, and she drags the body of a king crab back from the waves, settling down some distance away to pry at her new prize.

this water was weird, she had never encountered something like it. instead of the fresh taste of cool water, this stuff was bitter and had a sharp taste of salt. Yuck! the redeeming quality of this place was the strange creatures and the thick substance that seemed to keep sucking at her paws. she did not know the name of sand but she giggled at the feeling of it between her toes, reveled in the way it seemed to glitter under the sun.

as a project she took to digging, her sharp silvery claws slicing through the ground with a delightful ease. it did not take long for her to dig a widehole that started to engulf her body but before she could dig her way to china, the vile water began to spill into her haven. at first she tried to fling the white foam from her digging extravaganza but soon it poured in, drenching her in sea water. causing her to yelp as she scrambled out, this water was so weird!

with a huff she abandoned her hole, that was now filled to the brim with ocean water, eyeing a dark shape not to far off. she started trotting to the unsuspected canine when she gave a sharp bark at the thing she had in her mouth, what on earth was that thing?!

"woah! what is that thing!?" she exclaimed what her mind just thought seconds ago, her paws draging her rather drenched form closer before she began hopping around like an excited pup. "what are you doing with it?" she asked, her eyes only for the crab

the yell sounded just as she'd made headway into the body of the crab, and the shell cracked with a dull pop. the taste of her meal is on her tongue and it's this nearness to getting what she wants that has her stand and furl back her lips in one smooth motion, nape prickling atop her spine. her guard hairs are stiff and jagged along her spine, thanks to the saltwater, and she is the pinnacle of a threat. but the girl's words sink in and her jagged exterior falters and begins to fade, though her nape remains erect. "it's a crab," she offers finally, "you eat it." this girl reminds her of the one who practically fallen down a mountain in order to say hello, and this she associates with harmlessness. still, she desires solitude, not crab discussions, and thus grabs her treat and stalks away.
