Rannoch nodded, following Raven's lead into the cavern. He didn't know what he expected to find, but once they cleared the threshold, Rannoch found himself momentarily inarticulate. The cave was much more spacious than he had previously anticipated, and in the distance, he could see that the main "room" was one of many. There were more entryways, and Rannoch wanted to investigate them.

"What a find," he remarked, glancing at his friend with excitement. "What do you make of all of this?" Rannoch hoped that Raven was in the mood to explore, too. With motivation driving him, he pressed forward a step and sniffed; he supposed that these caverns had to have some occupants. He was surprised by the staleness of the air and how it appeared as though their discovery was vacant. He didn't know what to make of it. Although the vacancy was in their favor, he couldn't help but wonder if there was a reason for this.
a crime so old as the sky and bone
he came untied, solid as a stone
all is almost lost and it starts to show
