All Welcome

Panther musk was thick in the air. Ying walked with uncharacteristic dominance, a silent warning to any of the daring felines. She could hold her own in a battle; while having never fought a cougar, she figured that it couldn't be much different from a wolf...right? She chuffed as she walked, wondering if anyone else was nearby.

The woman was making her way around the plains and getting acquainted with the new area, so far she met a brash young boy that she spared with and sadly lost and ever since her pride has been twisting with hurt. But Vespera had to keep swallowing to the point where she could be at equilibrium but sadly she doubted that she ever would since her childish nature prevented her from being a functioning adult. The dark woman flared her nose and flattened her ears to her own annoyance and continued to drag her paws as she was imagining a scenario where she won. Her imagination went so far as to dreaming of beating the shit out of Greyback and making him sorry for wronging her, and once he was done, she would go around and wham on all the wolves that wronged her.

She was so focused on her made-up scenario that she almost didn't see the other wolf that she was about to intercept, but thankfully her senses came rushing to her head and she was snapped out of her daydreaming. Vespera shook her head wildly with her purple eyes bugging out as she planted her front paws and forced herself to come to an abrupt stop with her head jerking forward a bit. Still dazed and surprised, she blinked with confusion and licked her chops as her eyes drifted up to the stranger, "my bad," she stated simply but she sounded like she just stumbled out of a bar.

Unfortunately, she was not met with a feline but with another wolf. The impact left her confused and at a loss for words; her dominant stance was immediately dropped as she took a moment to assess the situation.

Ying wondered what had brought the woman so far from her senses. It seemed as though she had been in a daze, but for what reason? Hackles lifted, she warned, Be more careful.

The woman's stance changed and she gave a warning to Vespera to be more careful, but she brushed off her warning with her mentally rolling her eyes as she held her tongue. Her pride was hurt and she didn't know whether to feel angry or depressed but she wouldn't apologize any further and ignored what the stranger had said, "I'll be out of your way," she mumbled and stepped aside and weaved around the woman as she still felt a little groggy, "gonna go fight a tree or something..." she rambled to herself as she dragged her paws slowly away from the female.

She was honestly itching for a fight, but was she willing to risk her pride being potentially hurt again? She didn't care, her annoyance started to elevate again as she went back into her daydream state and started to imagine how she would go find the stupid brat and give him a run for his money.

What? There was something wrong with this stranger. Ying was tempted to watch her stroll away, continuing toward the island without another word, but knew that there was something more to be uncovered.

Interested, she barked for the cloaked woman to stop. She walked up behind her, hackles still raised, silently inviting the stranger to attack. While she didn't seem outwardly fit for the military, Ying wondered if there was a warrior hidden beneath.

As she started to trudge away deep in her thoughts, the commanding bark shattered her spacing out like a broken mirror and on instinct, she stopped in her tracks. Vespera flicked her tail and with her ears first, she turned her head towards the woman with a bewildered look on her face. She blinked at her for a few seconds, trying to read her on why she wanted her to stop because she didn't even say anything. The dark woman wasn't really good at reading other wolves but for the first time in a while, she remembered this aura it was knocking at her like someone on the outside of the window peeping inside.

Memories of Brynn slightly flashed in her eyes as she was the first to call a friend and sparred with, so Vespera lifted her brows and blinked, "you sure?" She asked since she only just met the woman and didn't even get a name out of her, but as the young boy, she was probably looking for a spar.

Sparring was the only way for Vespera to distract herself of her sorrows of the past since fighting was all that she had been doing.

She charged forward, intending to knock against one of the stranger's legs. It would be a gentle attack; rather than going for blood, Ying simply wished to get both partners ready.

Vespera: 50/50

There was no conformation, instead, the woman charged at her legs with a surprisingly gentle touch, Vespera felt the world slow a bit, were they really going to do this? Apparently they were. Vespera blinked at her for a few seconds, and with her brain activating her adrenaline and excitement, she lowered her hackles just a bit as a smirk peeled on her face, "alrighty then," she said with a bit of determination.

"You asked for it!" She revealed her dagger-like fangs as she peeled back a malicious smile and reared her head back like an attacking cobra. Fast like a whip, she rocketed her head forward and dove under the woman's chin and spiked her head up under the female's neck and locked onto her like a steel trap. The cloaked woman then lowered her haunches a bit more like a loaded spring and moved all her strength to her legs.

Like a catapult, she sprung her legs up to get some momentum and managed to get some air with the woman and in a split second, she moved her strength to her neck and forced the woman belly up, flat on the ground. Hopefully, she would have knocked the wind out of her in some way and Vespera held her down to the ground with all the ounces of power she had.

Vespera: 31/50

Struggling for air and in a compromised position, Ying knew that she had to think quick. She was being held down by the whole of her opponent's weight, and had little room to move. The only option would be pushing upward with her hindlegs in hopes of further exposing the woman's throat.

Thankfully, the move worked. Vespera was moved enough for Ying to reach forward and wrap her jaws around the flesh between shoulder and throat. She held on as she continued to push, attempting to find enough leeway to reorient herself upright.

Ying: 11/50
Vespera: 31/50

Vespera should have guessed that the woman would put up a fight, and sadly, Vespera couldn't move in time for her receiving a powerful kick to the stomach which made her purple eyes pop out of her skull as her fastened grip loosened and her fangs popped out of white woman's neck with her blood spewing out of her and Vespera's teeth stained with her blood. The dark woman's face was slowly morphing into one of surprise as her body was lifted and her front paws started to flail and her back paws trying to find footing, the stranger wrapped her jaws around where Vespera's shoulder and neck met.

The momentum of the attack made Vespera lose her attempt at getting a good stance on her back legs and she came crashing to the ground on her back like how she did the same thing to the white woman. The pain was starting to get intense for Vespera, but if the brat taught her one thing, it was to keep on the fight, so her eyes sparked flames as her fighting spirit was yet to be vanquished. The dark woman's back legs were free to move, so Vespera forced her strength to move down her body as she wiggled for her body to swing back. She then brought her back legs come flying back full swing as she propelled her back paws straight into Ying's ribs on her side with the kick of a kangaroo, but she wasn't finished.

Vespera craned her head back with her teeth bared and her ears pinned to her neck, she once again slingshotted her muzzle and dug her fangs into her neck and held on. The girl shoved her front paws under her body and launched herself up with enough force to slam the woman into the ground with the two wolves sliding, and with her grip, she continued to put pressure on her neck.

Disadvantaged, she began to grow anxious. Teeth were once more lodged into her throat, leaving her without many options. She continued pushing against Vespera's stomach with weakened hindlegs, hoping that the effort would coerce the woman to release. In the mean time, Ying used her forelegs to push against the underside of her assailant's jaw, attempting to lessen the pressure being applied.

The woman started to feel her own adrenaline run out, and as she continued to hold Ying, the woman began to resist her grasp by trying to kick Vespera off of her. But she persisted and continued to hold her down but her exhaustion was leading her to loosen her grip and the constant kicking from the woman was starting to wear her out a bit.

Their fates had been decided: the stranger would win, while Ying was destined to lose. She finally halted her movements and relaxed beneath the woman's weight, deciding that there was nothing more she could do. Ying waited patiently for the other's reaction.

Vespera's breath was hot as she panted with every ounce of steam she had left in her system, her spirit was flourishing for her anger towards the younger male that she fought was still there, burning with fury. But, the female's attempts to get her off ceased and her body relaxed, this was the signal that Vespera got that she had surrendered and it would be fitting of her to step off. The cloaked woman released her grasp of Ying and stepped a few paces back to give her room to get up, so she stood there panting with her chest moving up and down with steady rhythms. The adrenaline finally stopped fueling her strength and she felt that her bone structure was going to collapse as she stood so to prevent herself from embarrassment, she sat down.

"You're a good fighter," she managed to pant out without a breath between words since she didn't want to hurt the woman's pride. But in her mind, she so badly wanted to prance around in victory because she actually won something but she was at war with herself on doing so.

You are, too. She slowly made her way upright and shook the debris from her fur. Blood still trickled from the open wounds, but Ying chose to ignore it. The scars would come soon, with or without medical attention.

There was some further curiousity in Ying. She wondered if she might be able to recruit this stranger, but knew that with how far they were from the coast and the faint scent of a pack on her pelt, the answer would likely be no.

Instead, Ying continued on her way. She turned back and told the woman, Watch where you walk, before continuing toward home.
