He's not surprised to find his mate fishing. The sight brings a smile to his face despite his nervousness, and he's charmed enough by it to not mind when Evergreen gets his face wet with a brush of his cheek. Good catch, He compliments, voice warm. He leans forward to groom the wetness away from his broad muzzle, quickly working his way over most of his face just to keep him from dripping everywhere while they talk. When he finishes, he pulls back with a slightly more serious expression. There's uh... something I want to talk to you about. Nothing bad, but maybe a little weird because it's... sudden. He sucks in a breath after he finishes, briefly trying to continue, but he finds he's too nervous to keep talking without a little prompting.
Winterbourne's voice is low and raspy due to a throat injury during his childhood, and it can sometimes be difficult to understand him.
