Sheltered in a den under the roots of a large tree, Reiko slumbered peacefully as the soothing scent of morning dew rolled through the vale. Spring was slowly turning its head, the frost would come and go, the rising heat not only warming her toes but also draping the mountains and trees in a soft misty veil. Birds in the distance could be heard, singing her to a slow wake as the empress' eyes fluttered every now and then.
It was a pain in her belly that caused her to shift, to curl up a little tighter in her sleep as the uncomfortable feeling aroused her awfully. Leaning heavily on Hiromi who slumbered at her side, thankful for the warmth the other pale woman offered. A frown gently carving its way on her still slumbering face as she winced at the sensation burying itself deep into her abdomen.
With a flicker, cerulean eyes opened to see the light beaming through the opening of the den. A soft sigh exhaling through ivory fangs - she knew the signs, she heard of them before. It seems the Empress' first heat has finally come.

As she stared out of the den, her chin resting on pale paws as she peered out - watching the birds as they flew by in their own courtship dance. Her mind buzzed with every possible outcome that might happen within the next week or so...
