The family den brought safety and comfort. Here, there were only the scents that he was familiar with, which included his mother and siblings. A few passing-by scents such as that of Kaistleoki’s medic, or the guard were infrequent enough that they still startled the cream colored boy.
Today, he wandered far enough from his siblings that he could not find his way back. The unfamiliar laid in his path. His head wobbled in search of his family’s scent, and when he could not pick it up, he whined softly.
