All Welcome
its raaaaining. AW!

Marble never had a reason to wander from the den. Everything she wanted was right here; food, warmth, her mother and brother. There was nothing out there that was more important than that. But that morning the impossible happened; there was something interesting just outside the little home.

It started as a constant plip, plop, plip, plop that kept her awake. The noise didn't bother her, not at all. She loved the predictable rhythm. pl-pl-plip.., she whispered along.

Over time the noise went from plip plop to a steady shhhhhhh. It was then that Marble decided she must see the source of this song.

She looked behind her and pushed a paw into @Calcifer's plush fur, hoping to get her brother's attention. She was eager to see where the noise came from, but hesitant to do so on her own.

The little chunk was heavily snoozing, mainly snoring when his sister pawed him. His head rose quickly and the fur on his cheek was smashed against one side of his face. He squinted and eventually his sister come into view. A large yawn escaped his little jowls. Waking up in the middle of the rain she sounds was background noise and not initially alarming to Calcifer. He looked at his sister with a tired confused face. "whaa" what?

*just found out that technically all of Cal's text is bold so the text doesn't show easier. Sighs. Gotta change that now*

He rises (surprising to her. this was her mellow brother after all) and addresses her with a question. All she could do was giggle at the way his fur squished against his cheek. She almost forgot why she had woken up Calcifer in the first place, but it came back to her eventually.

Marble pointed towards the entrance with her nose, then looked back at him with her fishbowl eyes.

His head tilted to the side when she began to giggle. What was so funny? But then she pointed to the entrance of the den, where they had seen their mother and sometimes others come and go. His vision still a bit blurry the falling raindrops melded together. He stood up, rising above his sister to investigate what it was that had captured his attention. As he headed to entrance the sound of rain became louder and caught his attention. Slowly he stuck his head out and quickly retracted it as a small droplet of rain assumpted one of his ears. It was cold and wet, something he didn't like experiencing all of the sudden. He took his paw and frantically flicked at his ear to get it off.

Marble was thrilled to see her brother was just as interested to see what was out there as she was. Now she didn't have to worry about going on her own.

When Calcifer walked towards the entrance she was close behind. Marble watched her sibling stick his face out and recoil as soon as he did. A concerned gasp slipped from her maw. Was it dangerous?

Slowly, cautiously, Marble stuck her own face out of the den. A single drop of water rolled off the den's roof and fell onto her nose. She pulled away and sneezed.

The droplet was unexpected, but she didn't exactly hate it. It was very refreshing. She liked the contrast of the warm den and the cool rain. Marble stuck her head out to feel it again. It wasn't one raindrop this time; it was many. They all went plip plop plip plop on her plush face.

She lifted her nose up and closed her eyes to soak in the feeling. Another giggle rose from her chest.

Calcifer's initial reactions of shock were shared by his sister but her desire for the curiosity of the natural world surpassed him as she was quick to stick her head out once again. This time her reaction was gleeful filled will giggles.

No way was Calcifer going to have his sister be braver than him. He was supposed to protect her. He couldn't do that from behind. Seeing his he was quick to sprint out of the den, slipping a bit on the muddy ground.

When he entered the outside world the raindrops fall to the earth felt list light flicks on his coat. They didn't hurt but it was more forceful then he expected. He looked up wondering where they were coming from and had a go at attempting to catch a few in his mouth.

While Marble preferred a subtle introduction to rain, Calcifer threw himself at it head first. Her eyes flew open as her brother raced past her, and she gasped when he slipped in the mud.

She followed him, but in a more cautious way. The dirt didn’t feel nice between her toes. It’d be a shame if it got stuck in her fur. Then she lifted her head and opened her mouth just like Calcifer.

Over and over again he tried to catch droplets within his mouth. Perhaps one or two attempts were successful but not enough to take in their taste or give them a piece of his mind. His snaps were quick and vigorous tiring out the little monster, prompting his tongue to rest outside his jaw as he panted.  Once still and panting the rain was able to find its way to Calcifer, rather than the other way around. Upon his tongue, unlike when it made contact with any other part of Calcifer's body, the feeling was pleasant. The cold drops were refreshing, a sensation Calcifer had never experienced before. After making this discovery he slowly lifted his head, his mouth agape hoping to catch as much water as he could.

Marble’s method was much more simple than her brother’s. Rather than chase around the droplets, she kept still and let them fall into her mouth. It was a much more successful, and soon her brother caught on. She congratulated him with a proud hum.

Satisfied with the amount of mystery liquid landing in her mouth and down his gullet Calcifer's attention was brought to his sister as she hummed. The droplets on his head and body were less iritiating now and more energetic and refreshing, fueling Calcifer. He turned to his sister and play bowed with a low grumble, decorating his chest the the brown mud matching his pelt and covering the ground.
