"It's a pack hunting ground- stay away from the upwards stream." A wolf couldn't simply claim a huge body of water, so she made the direction to stay away from the northern part, particulary where Kaistleoki was. She made the hint that it was pack grounds and not just one wolf. Especially, their hunting grounds.
