They’d reside in the mountains until further notice. That’s what @Célnes told him a few hours prior to his departure. He was ok with this decision; it was better than drowning in the valley below after all. But once the storms pass, he’d like to return to the forests below. He’d map out the mountain range for the time being.

Quietly he wanders, alert as always.

rustling above, below

another wolf with its fat paws, traipse traipse traipsing!!

all over matharad's den! idiot! thief!

the badger rolled over and shot up the tunnel. his dark face was red with rage as he poked his snout out from the foxhole, grunting noises of supreme displeasure after the dolt wolf and his feet that had scuffed matharad's carefully groomed lawn.

He’d expect someone to emerge at any side, but he could not predict a creature to erupt from the ground. It’s a good thing it revealed itself when it did. A few steps forward and Cenric could’ve stepped on its head.

He had only heard of these creatures in stories. They always play the pests. Best not provoke this one. Cenric grunted before slowly walking around badger, and he made sure to give it a wide birth.

a squawk of rage from martharad's lips as the wolf regarded him in nonplussed fashion, edging away and disturbing his loam even further. rudeness! uncultured dog! even a halfwit fox had better sense than this big brown oaf!

matharad disappeared under the ground to furious scrabbles. for all purposes he seemed well and gone, until he burst from the ground at a new location and bustled towards cenric with his greedy flaps flapping and teeth bared to ankle-bite.

The creature continued to cause a ruckus, but —much to his relief— didn’t lundge for him. Cenric was lured into a false sense of security as it disappeared below the earth. He was taken by surprise when it burst from the ground.

A hiss passed through his teeth as its fangs dug their way into his ankle. He hadn’t been bitten by anything in so long. The shock added to the pain.

Cenric whipped around and attempted to snap at the creature.
