I'll keep a few things vague in case anything needs changed, back dated to two days after the fight

When would @Effie awaken? After the fight Rye lucked out and found a tiny cove in the mountian side, it saved them both from a frozen death, it kept the few degrees of heat the pair could muster from being consumed by the bitter cold. Ryes' back was against the outside of the cove, his back whethering the worst of the snow and freeze mother nature had to offer but lovingly, mother nature also instilled resilience in the fur coats the wore. Rye gave brief thoughts of searching for food but knew leaving Effie would result in her possible death to the elements or by some wondering lion or coyote looking for an easy meal, himself included. It didn't help Ryes' wound was swollen and firey hot against the seemingly frozen stone beneath him, that also added to the interminable list of things that kept the male awake at night. Some of those nights Rye envied Effie. She wasn't in pain or aware of the cold, she was at peace and at times dreaming, or so the male guessed. During the long days and sleepless nights Rye was left to his thoughts, his anger  and fear at the events that happened fueled whispered rants on restless nights. His anger was directed towards the fact that he led them right into danger, his complacency in his linguistic 'abilities' was to blame. On the second night, Rye decided the past was the past, words were no longer as mighty as the claws; the minute he was healed he was going to find Towhee and demand to be trained. If he could find her that is. Now more than ever before, he was completely lost, left to the whims of the world around him and whatever it decided to throw at him.

One day the world would bestow him with the gift of seeing a pair of blue eyes staring back at him in the early hours of the morning, day or night. For now he waited, listening for sounds of anything or anyone but the past two days only brought the occasional bird or weird looking bug. The nights scared him most, sleep beckoned him like bear to honey but he refused to be caught off guard, however exhaustion always caught up to him in the end. As the hours piled on, so did the problems. Rye nor Effie have ate or drank in two days, the affects of dehydration were beginning to become intense as the remaining stores of liquid anything dried up. Hunger wasn't that great of a problem as Rye had some fat stored up from the deer but he wasn't confident Effie had much left in the tank.

He wished she would wake soon.
Edited; got too carried away and power played
