loko rounded the corner in time to hear the rowdy yips of quennell. it surprised him how different the boy looked now -- less round and blobby, more like the wolf he would grow to be. loko grinned, his gait lengthening.

it seemed the two would collide, so intense was the ardor of each's gait. loko's impish grin did not recede as he lowered his head for contact.

moments before collision loko would pull to the left, enough that their bodies might connect but little force would be behind the blow. and if that happened, he'd pounce upon his little brother in a flurry of affectionate rough-housing.
