All Welcome
though kivaluk had enjoyed the adventure of going to moonglow, and of meeting the family he had there he was glad to be back home.

the first day back he had done little but sleep ( and eat ) to restore himself from their trip back but as the morning sun broke along the horizon, lighting along the river like greek fire, he sets off; eager to work on his skills patrolling the borders.

akkuma had stumbled across many treasures on their trip to moonglow, but he had only been able to choose one to keep with him. in the end, he'd decided on berries. not just any berries; the kind that, when crushed, stained everything they touched in rich purple-red. they were much larger than any he'd found in the taiga.
slowly, he'd started to learn to make art. paw prints and claw marks arranged to suggest shapes, staining stone and wood until it roughly matched the image in his mind. by the time he heard kivaluk's imminent approach to the borders, akkuma had nearly finished his latest experiment. with a bit of squinting, his berrystain work was reminiscent of a tree. he looked up, paws and mouth stained with berries. hey kivaluk. patrolling again? he questioned, already considering whether he would join his brother or not.

though kivaluk is not entirely surprised to have stumbled across akkuma he is nevertheless surprised at the state in which he found his brother. the berry stains went unnoticed by kivaluk at first, but as he draws nearer, the sweet, cloying scent of the squashed fruits linger on the air. upon closer examination, kivaluk can make out the soft staining 'round his brother's mouth.

yup, kivaluk replies; pausing a beat. er..., what're you doin'? he asks in his next breath.
