After an uneventful whelping in the traditional family den at Paradise Meadow, and a carefree infancy, Sela soon distinguished herself as the most strong-willed and even-keeled among her siblings. Soon, she was being trained to take over both the name and role of Tehama from her mother. However, this was cut short when their beloved volcanic mountain home, long dormant, suffered a series of earthquakes and Mount Mirror began to smoke. As warning signs escalated over several days, it was clear the pack could not remain in their ancestral home. Ash fell from the sky, and larger searing-hot volcanic rocks rained down when the ground rumbled and shifted forbiddingly. Sela gathered her siblings to lead them to safety, and her mother urged the pack to flee. Unfortunately, many scattered and left for destinations unknown, and two were killed in an ensuing rockslide—including Sela's father Intrepid. Later, the pack would learn that their former densites had been destroyed; they would all have perished in the eruption.

With their homeland filled with hostile conditions and bad memories, the remaining Mount Mirror wolves were taken in by the neighboring Thousand Rivers pack. Though the two groups had always been allies, the merge was not met with universal welcome, and the losses the refugees had suffered made them uneasy and rootless. Sela herself was one such frustrated soul.

Over time, Sela's mother slowly opened her heart again, to the pack's Beta Dorian. But despite attempting to fit in and even rising in the ranks, Sela, going now simply as Tehama in a bid to regain her lost identity, could not stay in Thousand Rivers anymore. The land didn't speak to her, there was little future for an heir with nothing left to inherit and no pack to lead, and she was a burden on her mother who was moving on with her life with newborn pups at her side.

Without hard feelings and with renewed optimism for the future, the nearly three-year-old Tehama departed. After several moons of traveling, she arrived in the rain-soaked Teekon Wilds. Attracted to a mountain setting reminiscent of her youth, Tehama ultimately approached the borders of the Moonspear pack, where she found acceptance as autumn came upon the Wilds. However, after a season of finding new friends and carving out a role for herself among the mountain pack, Tehama was struck by two tragedies: the first, the death of several packmates at the jaws of a bloodthirsty bear, and the second... an accident of Tehama's own making. Amidst a nigh-endless blizzard, the Moonspear wolf lost her footing in the mountain's high reaches. All that could be found of her was a forboding smear of blood and the scent of her, but a body was never recovered, and her fate remains officially unknown.
