Differentiate between Bold & Light in Font Awesome Icons?

Hey there!  I was wondering how to differentiate between the bold, regular, and light versions of the Font Awesome icon packs.  I would like to use both the filled and the un-filled stars in the pack, but I only know how to use this:

which will output

Looks like you have to add in fas (solid), far (regular), or fal (light) after the symbol name!

Code:
[icon=star fas] [icon=star far] [icon=star fal]

Outputs:
