Idk why the formatting is weird on this. Sorry in advance,
It is different. Too different.Different, obviously, in the way that the world shifts beneath her paws, for there is no grass here. Very little, perhaps, save for whatever roots crawl to hoist water from so far down beneath. In the time she's been here, Evadne hasn't been quite sure what to do with herself; parted for moons on end from the only thing she's ever known as home, left to wander and carry what she does know like a small flame, lit and cupped between two palms.
So she looses a howl when she scents the border. Hopes that she is not faced with fury. Or run off too fiercely.
The lichen girl will not blame if they do.

After a week of being cooped up in her quarters, Ruenna was enjoying a quick stretch of her legs as she strolled around the canyon. It was nice to be on her feet and not be in so much pain for once, thanks to the medication that Mereo's medic, Aquene, had provided. She still moved with a limp, but those who had grown accustomed to her viewing her stride would see it to be noticeably improved.
When the nearby howl lifted up, Ruenna thought to wait for a guardian to accompany her to the border, but something about the waver in the stranger's voice told her that she would not be met with aggression at the border. A guardian would join her in time, Ruenna was certain.
She limped to the stranger's position, greeting her with a tight smile and a small wave of her tail. The woman was a shrinking, diminutive looking thing. Was this another beggar on their doorstep seeking a handout? Mereo had seen more and more of these lately.
"You have found the border of Mereo, the military outpost that protects this area. My name is Ruenna Caeso-Redsand." She looked expectantly to the woman, waiting for her to state her business.

Ruenna experiences chronic lower back pain as a result of an accident from over a year ago. She moves with a very obvious, heavy limp.
