Saena marched north.

Though the furtherance of her mission to claim land for herself and start anew was far from her thoughts, putting distance between her and the pack at the plateau was a high priority. She hoped to keep relations with her former family in spite of her decision to leave, but she knew that, in this moment, instinct would likely win out. The wolves there wouldn't tolerate her presence in their shadow for much longer, and she didn't want to aggravate them further by haunting their hunting grounds in the flatlands. She'd been a loner only once before, very briefly, but she knew the ins and outs of it as if she'd spent her whole life alone.

She followed the mountains west, looped around and up the crumbled Horizon Ridge, and bedded down on the cliffs near the coast for the night. Morning brought with it a desire to get out of the open, so Saena was on the move before dawn had fully burned away. She found her way across a ravine and entered a wood whose aspens, with their fledgling foliage, had yet to fully flourish. She couldn't have anticipated by looking at them that this wood took on the face of a wildfire in the fall. Right now, it was the same as the Heartwood and Ravensblood Forest, as far as Saena could tell. For that reason, she spent little time dwelling on its appearances and more time picking her way through it.

Partway through, she spotted a wolf walking. His coat was dark, not fully black but not really grey either, and the bottom of his tail flashed near-white against his dark hocks. He wore a saddle, but she didn't take too much note of that, it being a fairly common marking. Instead, she focused on his physique: not too bulky, but definitely not reedy. Fairly balanced. Probably a hunter, Saena thought to herself, though it was hard to say from appearances. After all, she was small, petite and curvaceous at the same time, giving an appearance of attractive plumpness. She wasn't the ideal picture of a hunter, but she was one nonetheless.

"Hey," she greeted in a take-it-or-leave-it fashion, as though she could either stay and chat a while or keep on going with just that passing hello. The ball was in the regal Chimera's court on that one.
