Great Bear Wilderness a flock of birds

Atreyu looked a little surprised at Charon's suggestion of a tunnel, and Charon quirked an eyebrow and grinned. "What did you think we were gonna do, jump down?" he said with a laugh, not realising that might've been Atreyu's actual idea. It certainly hadn't been Charon's; no matter how much he couldn't resist a challenge and proving himself, there wasn't a hair on his body that had considered throwing his mangled self down the pit to find out if there was water down there.

"Hmm-mm," Charon agreed in a hum while he continued to track the squirrel's scent. The trail lead down across a rocky hill, but it stopped near a bunch of trees standing off the side of the quarry. Looking up, Charon heard the trees swoosh, indicating that Mr. Squirrel was probably still up there. "Well, so much for that." Charon looked around the immediate area to see if he could find anything worthwhile, or anything that could still lead them down to The Pit. He saw a tunnel and ran up to it, but once he reached it Charon realised it wasn't all that big, so it wouldn't fit either of them. "Well, if this tunnel leads up there the only way to use it as a cache would be to send our littlest pups through to fetch stuff," Charon said with a grin. Probably not the best idea.
