Emberwood to what end

Lunae kept staring at the creature. She wasn't able to pull her eyes away. The creature gave a low growl, it's unusual tail going up then around the tree. 
 It lost it's balance, scrambling to regain it, it fell. Lunae's ears went up in surprise. Lunae to a step towards it, then backed away. 
 Her mind was indecisive, should I go? Or should I be careful?  Slowly, Lunae crept up on the fallen creature. Inspecting the strange creature, she got even closer. She waited for it to get up, react. She stood near the creature, but still too far for the creature to attack. 
 With no other option but to wait, the wolf sat down. A deformed wolf? A different creature probably.
