Every word that Eshe spoke enabled Charon in his way of thinking and built him up further; compliments just seemed to keep pouring from her mouth. The confident smile on his face showed how pleased he was with her words. Charon was not usually one for sharing such sensitive thoughts with others, and she had picked up his words and had elevated them even further.

Maybe the stars had brought them together, though for what purpose Charon did not yet know; perhaps it was only to punish Goober for what he had done, or perhaps there was something bigger involved. Only time would tell where the stars would further lead them, beside one another or separately. "Maybe," he agreed. "Regardless, I'm glad that we were guided together." Charon smiled and just looked around, feeling content enough. He lingered a moment longer, somehow just not feeling like going home just yet.
