For the first time in a long while Screech didn't know what to say. Everything Rannoch was saying seemed right but also so wrong, and watching as Redshank was terrorized for a bad decision only made him think of his own bad decisions and the unfortunate events that led to this point. Moonspear — this was their fault, too. They had corrupted Rannoch.
He looked sharply at the leader as Rannoch gave the order to do away with Redshank, and then turned to regard his friend and the wolves which had him pinned. His good eye found Terance instead and upon seeing the challenge there, Screech lost his shit. It was his fault — it was all their faults, all these Moonspear wolves continuing to ruin Rannoch! They had infected him with some kind of backwards thinking, tainted him with their innate evil — Screech bristled and lurched towards Terance in the next moment, unable to stop himself from feeling an overwhelming hatred for all that had transpired.
No, he didn't blame Terance outright for this; he blamed Hydra, and Moonspear, always. But Terance was the next best thing - the closest, resembling the darkie sisters who had ruined him, and now that he'd decided they'd ruined Rannoch too (and left tendrils of their evil ready and willing to continue that corruption) something had to be done about it. The dark wolf gave the command to break Redshank's leg and Screech was already flying straight for him; his lips parted, and he threw himself haphazardly at the massive shadow with his own malevolent intent.
A decision had been made — but then there was Liffey.
Her shouting voice made him stutter-step and fall short of his attack, and while he snarled and postured Screech wheeled about trying to avoid Terance's likely rebuke; the momentum carried him around the gathering and then he stopped with a skid, and looked up, glaring at first at Rannoch by happenstance. Screech noticed Liffey in the next breath and his expression relaxed, but the rest of him was still agitated and ready for action. He didn't know if he could trust his sister — she didn't understand what was happening here, and maybe she had been corrupted too — but if she could stay everyone's hands (er, teeth), then his only option was to listen.
So, he huffed and puffed, but distanced himself from the chaos so that Liffey could intercept him.
