Kintla Flatlands Cold bones

As Ruenna neared, the other woman's white scruff became visible over the waxen summer grasses. The young woman squinted through the sedgy veil, spying a pair of burnished mahogany eyes following her movements. Before she could say or do anything, the ivory stranger spoke her blessing.

Rue ducked her head to emphasize her embarassment, but the edge of her mouth also twitched upward. From the way the stranger smiled, she seemed to be poking some good-natured fun at Rue, and Rue knew she most certainly deserved this one. She looked up through her lashes, humor still pulling at her mouth and sparkling in her gaze.

"Much appreciated. A lone wolf needs all the blessings she can get." Rue's natural voice tone was so small that she barely needed to lower it to match the other woman's whisper.
