Aure had a lot to say, and Ephraim found himself a little slack-jawed as he considered the light-haired Skayona. He felt that her advice was unsolicited but he wasn't one to interject, normally, and kept his trap shut, merely nodding in semi-grateful acceptance of her opinion. Ephraim knew he should depart from his role in the pack and find something that suited him better, and it was nice hearing it from someone else, but that also felt a little bit like admitting he was a failure, something he wasn't keen on doing. Especially considering recent developments.

The rest all kind of bled together. Aure did answer his questions, but took her time getting to the point, and by then Ephraim's interest had waned somewhat. He politely waited for her to finish, though, then wet his lips contemplatively. What to say in response to all of that?

Why do you talk about the sky like it's alive? was what he settled on; after all, there wasn't much to say about Currituck (he hardly knew her, truth be told) and he wasn't super interested in hearing more about the mountains, considering he would never see them. Another day, perhaps Ephraim would have shown more interest in distant places and been more pleasant company... but being as morose as he was of late, it was hard to find interest for much of anything. It wasn't personal, though Ephraim hoped Aure wouldn't notice enough to take it thusly.
