They were on the same page for all of thirty seconds before Terance muddled it all up again, closing a chapter to one issue of Ibis' short life and making the narrative all about himself. What he needs; what he might lose; she listens because she has to, and Ibis is overwhelmed by the thought of everything disintegrating around her again.
