The pale boy couldn't understand why his mother had left them, and slowly but surely, he was learning to resent her more than his stalwart father. So he was not terribly sullen when he was called to play audience to his father's plans. The idea of a journey greatly intrigued him -- enough to take his mind off how upset he was.

"Dawn?" he asked hopefully, remembering the shewolf that'd looked so much like his father, and who'd smelled so nice and had made him feel so at peace. He was eager to see her once more, and eager to be on the road after being confined to the territory all his life. If Minnow got to have adventures, why shouldn't he?
