it takes him a moment to realize he's not alone after reemerging, attention snapping to the laughter not far away. "no need to apologize" he returns, a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips as the other closes the distance between them. "it's very refreshing" he jokes while leaning his head to the side, a few loose drops of water falling from his ear.

"not exactly the way i thought i'd be taking a bath though" he quipped, eyes squeezing shut as he gives his head a firm shake to rid himself of any further droplets. with some stroke of luck, he might just find the bird and make a meal out of him later.
