Emberwood seeking empty whispers

Evien had been trying to spend more time away from Ursus' territory these last few days, after the pups were born. It was too tense, too stressful, and he desperately didn't want to get into another argument with Merrick. The young healer was exhausted, mentally and emotionally, and he didn't want to take it out on his packmates. 

So, the boy had headed up north a bit, back to another familiar place. But by that point, he had been in most places around Ursus anyway. So this, these trees, this silence, was pleasing. Less chaotic and wild and fragile than Ursus. 

But he was not the only one who approached these woods for answers that day. A massive, lanky frame - mottled black and white. Another tall, sad, pretty boy - Evien was good at finding those, it seemed. 

Still, the posture of this stranger was concerning, and the small wolf approached him, brows knitted in worry. "Hey," he greeted, tipping his head to the side and scanning the other boy with curious green eyes. "You okay?"
