the overcast afternoon carries it with a dreary sort of gloom as wintersbane heads south of the bay, ash forest and ironclan borders fading into the golden sea of tall grasses of the pasture. on the eastern horizon he sees the gleaming ivory of the glacier revui had mentioned but for now, does not inspect it any closer. he’ll save that for another day. instead, he follows the lazy trail of freshwater streams that cut into his own claim, his steps crossing over a trail of coyote that recently passed thru. the scent nags at some sort of buried nostalgia. it reminds him, predictably, of his father who was neither wolf nor coyote. the gangster coywolf was an embodiment of both species.

not that wintersbane necessarily had any love for the man.

he’d always been a mama’s boy.

the thought earns a soft snort from the tundrian as he pauses in his exploration, head bowing towards the stream to lap at the cool water.
