Redhawk Caldera oh young blood

Rue watched the children like a hawk, particularly since Marten had passed. His death had been so seemingly random-- there had been absolutely no signs at all of anything going downhill with him, as far as Rue could tell. That terrified Rue. If they had no idea what had gone wrong the first time, how could they be expected to prevent from occurring again? 

Stars forbid it! Not on Rue's watch. 

Auntie Woo's careful eye was drawn to one of the twins who was motoring around the chamber, taking advantage of the newfound space now that Towhee had slipped out. Rue nosed around, searching for one of the toys they had set aside. Locating a rabbit femur, she nudged the bone toward the child, wondering if she could encourage a tug or even an attempt at a pounce.
