Without any words, offering just a nod in response, he followed along. She could tell he wasn’t particularly thrilled but it was easier than having to run back and forth with each item for him to take and the wind in the canyon could get harsh at times. It was better for him to be out of it with the hell he had put his muscles through. She could see the pain on his features, and knew at that moment the general pain reliever would need to be first before she even thought about grinding up a poultice to apply.
Upon arrival, she motioned with her maw towards a pelt laid out on the floor of her herbal den, intent to be the place in which she treated patients though she only had one. In the coming weeks she would stock up more that could be used to isolate body heat in the case of hypothermia though thankfully it was not needed now. “I know the feeling.” She half-murmured at his thoughts. She had relied greatly on her mother’s guidance and look where it had gotten her. Her mother was dead and all that was left was a hole… it was different, she was certain, but similar enough for her.
She pulled needles from a scrub pine, carefully bringing them over to him. “You’re going to want to chew on these. The needles have properties that when chewed, will relieve some of your pain. I can apply a poultice of prairie crocus to where it hurts the most to help relieve muscle pain and then some sleep out of the cold and wind will do you some good as well.” She instructed, falling easily into the medic mindset that she often craved to escape thinking about herself.
