He introduced himself through words Sunday Morning could not comprehend. Her tail wagged nonetheless, hearing the softness of his voice. Sunday Morning could not differentiate a stammer from the rest of the words he had spoken, and so the only way in which she could detect his nerves was through scent and body language alone. But she did not miss his smile, nor the answering wave of his tail. If there were any nerves left to be found, she hoped to eliminate them with a yawn that would tell him she meant him no harm at all.

Sunday Morning looked to the spot she had previously occupied, before slowly picking her way there. She sniffed at the wind and looked back to the Dark Man, inviting him to accompany her with a pleasant whuff and another wiggle of her tail. Her posture mirrored his own in that it was loose, her features relaxed.
