Sadey had stayed near Colt and the others. Had slowed her walking, then limped and finally without a word or a question, she had disappeared into the white. The howling turbulent snow covering her like a blanket, her white fur blending right in. She just disappeared just as fast as she had come. She hoped with all her hope that Ole Colt wouldn't take it too hard. That she'd be able to find him again, because she knew the fool, well he'd blame himself, just like he been doing.
She had blamed him at first too, but then ole sadey she realized quick, fast and in a hurry. Well, she had a part in it too. She could've told him no, didn't want to fight. She could have run on her own. She could have left them to deal with it, but she had stayed. Just like the fool she was.
She didn't know these mountains well, but she could feel the valleys and the peaks. And it was slow going, even as slow as she was going, it was treacherous all the same. Peaks and valleys hidden, on their edges sharp bottom cliffs. It was dangerous, and that lit a fire in the cowgirl, just as danger always did. Them grey eyes of hers lit up and she accepted the challenge, well accepted it until on one of them walks as the snow battered her from all sides, her tail and lashes had begun to freeze that she was knocked clear off her feet and fell, tumbling, tumbling down.
She landed with a large umph and the snow well it cushioned most of her fall, but it jarred the already wounded ribs and the scream that burst from her maw was one that the almighty himself would hear at heaven's gates, or the devil at hells. She lay there, god she didn't even know how long. He whimpers the only thing in the air. Then she slowly realized there was no more snow, she could hear it, but it wasn't piling on top of her.
Sadey gingerly got to her feet, tears streaming down her face at the pain that shot up and up. Her footpaw was bent the wrong way, not broke, just sprained, but gods almighty did it hurt. She slowly began to move through the area, realizing quickly she had found a small cavern away from the wind and the snow. She could weather here. She didn't smell much, but reptiles in the cavern holes and maybe some bats, but they'd make a fine meal she needed it. The snow was more than enough to quench her first. So ole Sadey settled down to weather the storm and maybe just heal.
