Didn't want this to drag along with too many individual threads so just let me know if all is okay with those tagged. If not I can edit.

On the first night, Arrluk would worry. His mother and father did not typically leave without a given howl. Though his mother did visit the other villages around them often, Arrluk thought maybe thos was the case. He had visited Moonwoman's ulaq. Stacks of fur to the corners, fresh meat and herbs hung to dry. Food stored in the cache just outside. They were preparing for an ascension and the thought weighed on Arrluk.

The second day Arrluk would give word to @Ajei and go to Moonspear and Forneskja. He did not stay. Only long enough howl out to @Treepie and @Solharr and to sniff around the borders for his parents scent. In his call, he would ask if Moonwoman or Sunman were within, yet it was not to be.

On the third, Arrluk would ask that @Valiant and @Rodyn keep a look out around and within the territory and he would go to the Neverwinter forest. It was dorment, as it so should, yet he had captured the scents along the many of Neverwinter's warn paths. It took him some time and all the day, yet as he continued into the open fields north of Moonglow, he knew in his heart where Kukutux and Aiolos had gone - the sea

As the sun came to rest, moon rose in its place. The two working together much as their parents always had. Both always there to relay on. When one rest, the other held the mantle. Together the villages of Moon continued to prevail even in the bleakest of hours.

The whale-wolf would stand atop the plateau that was once Moontide. Breathing in the scent of salt and... mother. His nose would lead him to the resting place of one of his elder sister's. The first of many heartbreaks which had come and those yet to come. Another would be so this very night.

The red fox fur was not one easily overlooked. A great many times Arrluk had seen this fur thrown over the shoulders of his mother. It smelt so deeply of her that he could hardly smell it's original wearer. With a white dipped paw Arrluk drug it closer to him, sniffing it as his eyes began to well with tears. There was remnants of green here as well. A substance he did not know, but it smelt deeply of herb and fungus and something else he could not quite pinpoint. Clutching the fox fur tenderly in his jaws, the Nuiruk son went out towards the sea. Calm waves lapped over his legs as he stood there. The sky brightly alight with red and purple hues of sunset.

Arrluk knew in his heart they were gone.

Tilting his muzzle to the skies, he began to sing the first night of death songs.

Death songs: the first three nights are spent encouraging the spirit to be swallowed by sedna. the next three are spent ensuring that the spirit has been swallowed. the last three are cries and farewell for the one lost. this may be an effort carried out by one or many, who commit to fasting through those days and must rest a long while after due to weakness.
