To claim that Quicksilver's jibes went largely ignored by the vain darkling would have been a lie, it
bothered Sinaaq in the same way that an itch bothered him when he couldn't scratch it. It was not a
graceful attempts at ignoring for Sinaaq's lips quivered with the urge to bare his teeth despite that he fully understood that his companion was jesting, even without the playful glance Quicksilver had sent his way. Quicksilver hadn't been
wrong in any sense of the word but even so that was not something that Sinaaq wanted everyone to know. That was why he had perfected the mask of indifference so the catalyst of
emotional pain the harbinger of death lived with upon a daily basis did not show to those whom did not know him well. Sinaaq had not realized that Quicksilver had learned that much about him by observation alone over the course of the months and hence rose a swell of surprise within him; only to allow the consideration that he was simply joking at the darkling's expense without realizing he had hit some kind of bulls eye as another option. Whatever the case did not matter and Sinaaq shrugged his companion's jests off with another roll of his eyes.
It did not fail Sinaaq's notice that the immature queen's mate ignored Sinaaq's questions in favor of answering Quicksilver's. This action caused the darkling to recoil back at the insult of being ignored. How bold this old man and little girl were to brush Sinaaq off as if he could do no harm to them. Without him their numbers would remain small and insignificant — could they truly afford to be so fastidious? — when with him in their ranks he could be another contributing member that might make the difference between failure and success. In the unstable, harsh winter months one wolf could make a difference, as unlikely as it seemed. In return, Sinaaq blatantly ignored Kaname's little speech of how if they were accepted they should do whatever necessary to make sure upstarts were not bothersome to them. So they did have enemies, after all. Cara addressed him in some manner, stating that they had little tolerance for insubordination, which unless their leading skills improved in Sinaaq's “opinion book” he would certainly have some issues. It wasn't so much that the darkling couldn't be obedient — he had once been a captive but even then he had not always listened. He had been obedient in Wintersun but it had been Solia that had started to tame him. Sept the lovely fawn colored Saturnin was no longer apart of Sinaaq's life and there was nothing to chain him back.
Sinaaq's fiery golden eyes held the queen's eyes, steady, smoldering and unwavering when her eyes met his, his head cocking an inch to the side, brow rising into a wicked arch over his right eye as he found the eye contact to be curious. Silent was the darkling however, noting that she did not exactly answer his question in full but Sinaaq, in the interest of not wishing to nitpick wearily, let it go. “Very well,” Sinaaq drew, tilting his head towards Quicksilver, breaking the eye contact he had held with Cara for a long stretch of moments. “What do you think Quicksilver? Should we join their ranks?” Sinaaq inquired, wishing to hear his companion's opinion though he had already resolved on giving it a try because though he asked out of courtesy no one made Sinaaq's decisions for him.
