Solaris was a rare breed of woman.

She wore a smile like lingerie
- and a loaded gun.

One might have called her b e a u t i f u l had they seen the way she aimlessly weaved beneath the shadows of soaring evergreens, her features serpentine in mid-autumn moonlight. And though direction was not of importance, she found herself drawn northbound, eventually coming to rest beside a body of water that looked as if death had seeped into it's core.

Bones littered the shoreline as vultures decorated the sky in a dance of sinister choreography, a sight the urchin queen committed to memory as she plucked a whelp's skull from the crimson stained sand. What a pity it was - had she discovered them a day sooner, she might have stripped flesh from their worn bones too.
