As Matteo grew, so did his habits and likes and interests. Though some remained the same as when he was a babe, like napping just a little too much, the discovery of his ears along with his nose and rapidly improving sight had recently made the world outside the den extremely interesting.

At first it had been terrible. Everything made sounds. Even things that shouldn't make sounds, like his sister's snoring. But after a few careful forays outside he had begun to appreciate the new information that soon became part of his daily life.

It was on one such peaceful trip that Matteo was interrupted by a scream that definitely sounded like Ever. What's wrong?! He arrived on the scene a flurry of black and white until blue eyes realised it was just playtime, very loud playtime at that. Sighing deeply, he settled nearby, content to watch unless he too is dragged into the fray.
