I've been watching Grey's Anatomy nonstop lolol.
It was going to be a good day! The pups had all slept side by side, right next to Momma. They had risen and gone their seperate ways, as per usual, but not before Eventide had a chance to kiss @Kasatka goodbye and race @Winterbourne to the pack's center. There were so many wolves that he still had to meet, but he only had until lunchtime!
Hopefully someone would wander by with the same amount of free-time and the desire to entertain a lonely little boy before his parents came back to corral him into the den.

she had half a mind to seek out her father, and yet she was distracted from that goal fairly quickly when her gaze settled on the pup. it took a moment to set a name to him - Eventide, surely - and a moment still to wonder what he was doing so far from the den.
she approached easily, tail wagging and muzzle outstretched to offer him a poke of her nose, taking in his scent and wondering just how long he'd been wandering around.

This Big Body, while less familiar, did happen to smell a little bit like Poppa. Eventide snuck forward, meeting her halfway with a touch of his own snout to see if he could confirm his suspicions. One thing was for sure: she definitely wasn't Poppa, but she sure did look a lot like him. Eventide took a few apprehensive steps back and raised his hackles defensively, unsure of what she would do next.

he seemed unsure, but bold enough to offer a poke of his own snout. "hello, eventide." she offered lightly, moving to rest on her stomach and survey him curiously. young pups were forever a mystery to her; and she decided the best course of action to be lapsing into silence and offering the next move to him.

There didn't seem to be any real threat here, so after another moment's thought and a pensive bite to his cheek, Eventide moved forward with his sniffer high in the air.
Ben-ty?he cooed, repeating his sister's call. It didn't make much sense, this word that she'd used, and he was curious to know what exactly it meant.

her gaze furrowed a moment before she echoed the word back to him, softer. "benty" she had absolutely no idea what the word meant, but surely it must have some significance; perhaps she'd gain some insight if he managed to speak again. her tail wafted softly, ears perked forward, and she marveled again at the perfect smallness of her half-brother.

Well, it did neither of them any good to just go back and forth with the same nonsense. Frustrated, Eventide huffed and fell back onto his haunches. If all that they were going to do was talk, then he was quite uninterested in continuing! What the boy really wanted was to play, but Dawn didn't seem like the cooperative type.
Play?he asked, cocking his head to the side as he waited for a reply.

she caught on fairly quickly to what he wanted to do (the straight-up demand certainly helped) and hesitated only a moment before dipping her muzzle in agreement. "play." deciding she didn't know just how well the boy understood language, yet, she choose a simple activity. dipping down into a play-bow, she offered him a quick poke of her muzzle before taking a few prancing steps backward, a clear invitation to chase.

Immediately, Eventide's puppy tail began to beat furiously at the air as he reared up onto his hind legs and came surging back down beside Dawn. Chase was fun! As a matter of fact, it might have been the most funnest, most coolest, most bestest game that Eventide had ever played! The only thing he didn't like was how slowly his tiny legs moved compared to everyone else's, but that didn't stop him from bounding off after Dawn.

Eventide got the gist of her actions quickly, surging up in an excited stomp that had a flash of pride dance in her chest - she'd done something right by him, and she always felt a little uncertain with the pups. she fell back and moved ahead once, twice, leading him on a ring around the clearing before slowing to the point where he would very well catch her. hawkish gaze peered back over her shoulder, impish and bright, tail wagging parallel to the ground.
