the prey here is enough to warrant a return to the ridge, but beside the partride caught earlier that day her hunt is unsuccessful. the skies above remain dismal and grey, spitting out a shower of rain that laces her caught with dozens of gleaming dots of light now and again. she remains damp, fur spiking together and hackles poking out especially. she roves the ridge without much purpose, now, hunt more or less abandoned in lieu of wandering with heavy thoughts and rain-soaked skin.
That is not dead which can eternal lie.

Grezig could not remember if she had been here once before. She felt as if she might have, but she could not be sure. She had been so many places now that could not keep track of them all. Down below her to the east was Northstar Vale—the place that was supposed to have been their home. But an angry neighboring pack and news of bears had driven them away. No matter. They had the Plateau now. Grezig bent down to drink from a stream, and then let her paws follow it, no real intended purpose on this scouting mission. Up ahead, she saw a shape through the drizzle and chuffed a greeting.
Whoever was up ahead, however, had no intention of greeting her, it seemed. With an internal shrug, Grezig changed course slightly to give the stranger their space, not realizing that the woman was a member of Sunspire...
